Part 3 – Special Topics

Part 3 provides stand-alone chapters on topics such as customizing documents for the business, product lifecycle management and engineering change orders, warehouse and inventory management, quality management, importing data and more.

Chapter 14 – The webERP Installer. Your webERP services provider may provide a blank slate and require you to run the webERP installer. This chapter steps you through running the Installer to create a new webERP site.

Chapter 15 – Chart of Accounts. Explains how to customize the chart of accounts to your business and jurisdiction.

Chapter 16 – Customization. Explains how to customize reports to your business. We will walk through the steps needed to add your company logo to sales and purchase orders and review built-in custom reporting features in webERP. We will also investigate customizing the menu seen by a user based on their security role.

Chapter 17 – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The concept of change management is introduced, and specifically an Engineering Change Order process that you can use with webERP.

Chapter 18 – Warehouse and Inventory Management. Explains how to perform inventory counts and manage stock using multiple warehouses and locations.

Chapter 19 – Electronic Document Management. Reviews typical electronic documents and and a process for managing them using webERP.

Chapter 20 – Point of Sale (POS) Terminal. The webERP project also provides point of sale terminal software that can be integregrated with webERP. This chapter describes how to configure the POS software for your business.

Chapter 21 – Importing Data. Explains how to import basic master data from CSV files when implementing webERP.

Chapter 22 – Quality Management. Explains how to incorporate Quality Management and issue resolution into webERP use.

Chapter 23 – Gift Vouchers. Explains how to manage gift vouchers in the purchase and sales processes.

Chapter 24 – Serialization. Explains how to create and manage serialized product as part of the purchasing, manufacturing and sales processes.

Chapter 25 – Advanced Searching and Dashboards. Demonstrates how to utilize the advanced search features and configure custom dashboards in webERP. By the end of the chapter, the reader with be able to create and save custom searches to reuse later as well as add search results to dashboards.
